Retaining all the original features of the 1950’s low dome racing helmet, the Davida Classic Helmet was launched in the 1984 by Davida and is an authentic example of one of the first helmets ever produced for motorcycling. Manufactured using traditional materials and techniques the Davida Classic is a hand built product of exceptional quality.

Just to show retro and vintage inspired fashion is nothing new, for the Mean Fuckers M.C. in London, between the mid 1980’s and early 1990’s, the Davida Classic was an essential part of completing their Rocker look. Former Mean Fucker member Matt Davies went onto to establish Dice Magazine, whilst Ben Part, a regular photographer for Davida, is now co-founder with Gary Inman of Sideburn Magazine and Dirtquake

In 1997, it was the finishing touch for former Sex Pistol, Ed Pole Tudor & 1990’s ‘It Girl’, Tamara Beckwith in Robert Milton Wallace’s Tunnel of Love. With music by Joe Strummer, (The Clash), it’s quirky and humorous short film about falling in love on motorcycles.

In 2008, the exquisite leather clad Davida Classic by designer Natalia Brilli appeared in Dazed and Confused magazine.

Nicknamed the ‘ Pudding Basin’ or ‘ Piss Pot’ the Davida Classic does not currently conform to any road safety standard. It is however suitable for use on public roads across the world where there is no requirement to wear a safety certified helmet and in countries where regulations exist it can still be worn on trikes, quads, classic cars and by sidecar passengers. It is available in the majority of the 100 or more Davida Colourways as well as in the racing design of the 17 World Champions who wore this style of helmet in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
