Part of the collection held at the National Film Board of Canada, this priceless gem is a 9 min 40 sec colour film about Mike Duff, the Canadian GP World Champion, and made in 1966 by Robin Spry.

A former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer,  winning the Belgian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 1964, the 1965 250cc Finnish Grand Prix, finished the year in second place to Phil Read, Duff became an associate editor of Cycle World  and in 1969 won the Eastern Canadian Championship. This image from our archives shows Mike Duff being chased by Phil Read.

Her book about travelling around the GP circuits of the world in the late 1960’s comes highly recommended: The Mike Duff Story: Make Haste SlowlyMichelle Duff – A career with a twist.

To honour the racing achievements and to celebrate the spirit of the Classic Racers from around the world we launched our Racing Series in 1998.

We recruited Duff to our Racing Series at the 1998 Centenary TT , organised by Ferry Brouwer at Assen, which saw all the orignal GP machinery and their World Champions race once more. Our Racing Series are still available today and are representations of one of the designs worn by 17 racers from the 1960’s.

Soon after the release of our Racing Series we were very proud to be the first helmet manufacturer to be licensed by the Hailwood Estate to reproduce the Mike Hailwood Replica Helmet. Since we no longer have the license to reproduce these helmets the lucky people who purchased one now have a collectors item.
