You Should Have Bought This £325,000 Limited-Edition Aston Martin DBS 59 To Now Own This Davida Helmet

With an ever-growing international reputation for traditional, premium helmet paintwork and a passion for keeping helmet art alive, Davida has seen a higher demand for its bespoke custom special service during 2019.

Whilst our custom special service is legendary within motorcycling, increasingly, these commissions are now coming from prestige brands from the world of Fashion, TV & Film, Music and Automotive Industries.

Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of their historic 1959 win at Le Mans, 24 of these limited-edition DBS Supperleggeras, were built by the deliciously named 'Q' department at Aston Martin.

Dubbed the DBS 59, only 24 were produced - just one vehicle for each hour of the Le Mans endurance race.

Taking their styling cues from the DBR1 which powered them to this historic victory, these £325,000 Aston Martin specials carried the DBS 59's racing green, along with a full heritage racing pack in the back seat that included a custom Aston Martin Davida helmet and matching Davida gloves.

The victorious DBR1 was driven in 1959 by legendary Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori. Shelby went on to develop the AC Cobra

The 24 lucky customers, who bought the DBS Superleggera's, were treated to an incredible handover event, including taking part in the traditional Le Mans standing start to reach their new cars before taking part in on a parade lap of the Circuit de la Sarthe.

In these days of mass production, the thrill of owning something no-one else has is something many do not expect to be able to achieve or afford. The motorcycle helmet, since its introduction, has been able to transcend its primary function of safety and become for the rider a high profile vehicle for self-expression

A quick internet search shows that interest in helmet art is as strong as ever, with many riders in search of an affordable way of obtaining a customised helmet design.

What these riders do not generally know is that for more than 20 years riders have been able to be co-designers with Davida craftsman to create their own one-off helmet design.

If you lust after your own individual design, the Davida Customer Special Service even includes design advice, to ensure your flat artwork will work on the dome of a helmet.

The costs of your unique, only one-on-the-planet, helmet starts from £50 plus VAT on top of the standard price of a Davida helmet. The final price will of course depend on the complexity of your design and paint colours chosen.

How can Davida do this? Their secret is that unlike most modern creations, Davida helmets are still individually hand-built in the UK. Using the best quality materials available with every distinctive livery and detail carefully created by individuals who still care about these things.

Once you've finalised your design, expect to wait up to 4 weeks to take delivery.
